I am inspired by the natural world and the transient state of nature, the sense of surface and its richness and depth. I deal with elements connecting movement and change in the place we live and I look at the parallels between what we see around us and try to convey a response.
I work with the surface making decisions through line, texture, mark-making and colour drawing through the picture space the image transforms and develops.
I am not entirely sure of the outcome. I think this is what holds my attention the combination of uncertainties and certainties...a continuous process of altered states.

My art journey is forever shifting and evolving. The older you get the earlier you go back. You draw on your past it creeps into the work.
After a decade in graphic design and illustration, I returned to study completing my BA(Hons) in History of Art followed by a Post-graduate Certificate in Education at Goldsmiths, University of London.
A twelve year career as an art teacher to Key Stage 4 & 5 led me to further study. I completed a MA in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art in 2012.
Painting and printmaking have been my main focus until I recently discovered clay. I have spent the last few years working with this versatile medium combining both paint and clay.
